Aikido Camp is a truly unique summer camp experience that is fun and educational. Children receive daily training in the non-competitive martial art of Aikido.
This traditional Japanese martial art teaches children how to defend themselves using minimal force without violent kicking or punching. Children learn at their own pace in a safe, fun-filled environment. Aikido develops:
Our Classes take place on a beautiful 2500 square foot practice mat where kids learn to run, roll, and explore their physical abilities through activities that develop hand-eye coordination, strength, agility, and physical fitness. Classes will be held in the morning and the afternoon, and will include stretching, rolling and tumbling, aikido self-defense techniques, and even some aikido wooden sword and staff training.
Off the mat, children will also explore different aspects of Japanese culture such as meditation, Japanese language, origami, calligraphy, manga drawing, and other traditional arts and crafts and other fun activities. The children will even get to make their own sushi! Lessons in Bushido, the Samurai code of respect and honor, and traditional Japanese games round out an exciting curriculum. It's like taking a trip to Japan for the summer. So come join the Fun!
Our Dojo (martial arts school) has recently been beautifully renovated with more off-mat activity space including our new student lounge where kids can relax and watch a Japanese anime movie after lunch.
The fee for Aikido camp is $150 per week. Children registered for more than one week receive a $25 discount on all additional weeks. Also, sibling groups receive a $25 discount per week for each additional child.
Before and after care will be available. For specific times and prices, please contact us at info@floridaaikikai.com.
